Project description:

Hidden within the depths of Vauxhall Train Station lie two clandestine WWII GOLD Vaults. These reinforced concrete structures, which are 600mm deep, were equipped with imposing vault doors to safeguard the gold reserves during air raids in WWII.

To accomplish the task of removing the vaults and paving the way for a new Electric Substation that would serve the Station above, Core Fix - Diamond Drilling Specialists secured the contract. With a stellar track record in the UK's Rail Construction Program, we took on the challenge of stitch drilling and bursting out the vaults in a confined space, employing our expertise to ensure the job was done efficiently and safely.
